Are you an experienced Cost Accountant with a strong background in manufacturing? This is an excellent opportunity to join a global leader within the manufacturing sector, where you'll play a key role in maintaining standard costs, managing inventory records, and supporting financial reporting.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Managing and maintaining standard costs, including annual cost roll updates in SAP.
- Analysing and reporting on inventory, ensuring accurate records and timely reconciliations.
- Preparing reports on inventory aging and calculating provisions for obsolete and slow-moving stock.
- Supporting annual physical inventory counts, reconciliations, and variance investigations.
- Posting accurate and timely journal entries, ensuring general ledger integrity.
- Performing SOX controls and supporting external audits with timely responses.
- Conducting balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals, prepayments, and inventory provisions.
- Providing financial reports and supporting budget and forecast preparation.
- Investigating cost trends and working closely with operational teams to identify efficiencies.
What They're Looking For:
- Part/Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent) - or strong relevant experience.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with a solid understanding of standard costing.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends and resolve potential issues.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- A proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail.
This position is based in Redditch and is easily commutable from Bromsgrove, Studley, Alcester, Droitwich, Alvechurch, Evesham, Birmingham, Solihull, Worcester, Kidderminster and Stourbridge.
